JBL Introduces Commercial Solutions Series Amplifier

LONDON, United Kingdom -- Providing high-quality audio amplification performance and simple system control to an array of vertical markets, HARMAN's JBL today debuted the CSA-2120 power amplifier at PLASA 2011. The 2-channel amplifier provides simple front-end amplification and a switch mode universal power supply.

"Adding a powerful, small form factor, convection cooled amplifier to our CS Commercial Solutions Series lineup is a significant step forward in providing a host of markets with high-quality and affordable audio solutions," stated Daniel Saenz, Install Business Segment Manager, Crown. "The CSA-2120 provides accurate, uncolored sound with low distortion for both audio and voice applications."

An auto-standby mode allows the amplifier to save energy by disabling the amplifier pulse width modulation generator when there is no input signal. The CSA-2120 also features thermal and low-voltage auto protection.

The amplifier includes two optional accessories, a mounting kit and transformer module. The mount kit allows for installation into a cabinet or wall and if a loudspeaker system requires higher impedance, the transformer module can be connected to obtain impedance matching.

The CSA-2120 has a power rating of 4 ohms/8ohms at 120 watts and weighs only 2.9lbs.

ORLANDO, Florida -- In an introduction that provides quality audio performance and intuitive system control to an array of important vertical markets, HARMAN's JBL today debuted the CSM-32 and CSM-21 Commercial Series Mixers that provide an entry-level, cost-effective approach to commercial audio applications such as retail, hospitality and conferencing. The new mixers can be configured for a range of uses such as paging, background music, and security applications, do not require a computer for configuration and are designed with simple analog-style controls. An included security plate can be placed over the controls to avoid uninvited changes to a commissioned system.

The CSM-32 features three stereo inputs and two stereo zone outputs and the CSM-21 features two stereo inputs and one stereo zone output. Both processors are stereo throughout the entire digital processing path and can be run in stereo or mono mode. Each processor offers an isolated output, specifically designed for supplying music-on-hold audio to phone systems.

The new JBL Commercial Series Mixers offer a diverse palette of processing tools, including priority override, page ducking, source and zone EQ, LevelGuard™, AutoWarmth™ and a built-in crossover. LevelGuard helps maintain optimum levels through the system by automatically applying the correct amount of compression to the source signals based upon the incoming level. Even with source material of different levels, customers experience consistency from the system. AutoWarmth helps maintain musical warmth at all operating levels by automatically adjusting the tonal balance within a zone based upon the zone output level. This helps prevent music from sounding thin at lower levels or excessively resonant at higher levels.

Three wall controllers are available for the CSM-32 and CSM-21 devices, which offer volume control and source selection from convenient remote locations.

JBL Introduces Commercial Series Surface-Mount Loudspeaker

ORLANDO, Florida -- At InfoComm 2011, HARMAN's JBL Professional announced the addition of the CSS-1S/T surface-mount loudspeaker to its CSS Commercial Series Speaker lineup of cost-effective ceiling speakers and backcans.

"We introduced the first three models of the CSS Series at last year's InfoComm show," said Rick Kamlet, Senior Marketing Manager for Commercial Installed Sound at Harman's Loudspeaker Business Unit. "Each of those models were cost-effective ceiling speakers. We are pleased to now be expanding this affordable segment of our product line with a new full-range, 2-way, surface-mount loudspeaker."

The new CSS-1S/T is a compact 2-way 100V/70V/8? surface-mount loudspeaker with a 5¼-inch low-frequency and ¾-inch high-frequency driver and a frequency response of 85 Hz--18kHz. The 10-Watt multi-tap transformer for 100V or 70V distributed speaker lines (10W and 5W taps, plus 2.5W at 70Vonly) and 60-Watt 8? capability make the CSS-1S/T ideal for low to medium-level background music applications. A ball-type wallmount bracket is included.
